UPDASH ORDER APP PRIVACY POLICY
This page explains how the UpDash Order App collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data for store and merchant staff in Mauritius.

Section 01
1. SCOPE
This Privacy Policy applies to the UpDash Order App, which is used by store, merchant, restaurant, or vendor staff in Mauritius.
The Order App lets store staff:
- sign in to store accounts
- receive and manage incoming orders
- view customer delivery and contact details needed to fulfil orders
- print receipts or order slips
- receive push notifications and real-time order updates
This page explains the personal data that the Order App collects, uses, stores, and shares.

3. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
3.1 Store Account and Session Data
- store user login credentials
- user identifiers and authentication tokens
- store identifiers
- store name and store address already linked to the store account
- device, session, and security-related data processed by our backend services
3.2 Order and Customer Data Visible in the App
The Order App may display or process customer order data needed for fulfilment, including:
- customer name
- customer phone number
- delivery address and apartment details
- special instructions for the store or driver
- order contents and item details
- payment method and order totals
- order status and driver assignment status
3.3 Notifications and Real-Time Operations Data
- push notification token, if notifications are enabled
- real-time order event data used to notify store staff about incoming or updated orders
3.4 Printer and Local Configuration Data
The Order App may store local configuration data on the device, such as:
- selected printer profile
- printer IP address and port
- printing preferences
- local app settings related to order printing

4. PERMISSIONS AND FEATURES USED BY THE ORDER APP
The Order App may request or use the following device features:
- Notifications to alert store staff to incoming orders and operational events
- Local network access to discover and connect to nearby printers
- Internet and real-time connections to receive order updates from UpDash systems
Printer discovery is performed on the local network from the device so the app can find compatible store printers.
The current Order App is not intended to request device location permission for store detection or branch setup.

5. HOW WE USE PERSONAL DATA
We use Order App data to:
- authenticate store users and secure store access
- identify the relevant store account or branch from UpDash account records
- deliver incoming orders to the correct store
- help store staff prepare and manage customer orders
- coordinate order fulfilment with delivery operations
- print receipts, tickets, or operational order slips
- send push notifications and real-time order updates
- maintain security, fraud prevention, and service reliability

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Order App may rely on third-party services such as:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications
- Microsoft Azure and related cloud infrastructure providers for backend hosting and platform operations
These providers may process data on our behalf or as independent service providers for the services they deliver.

8. LOCAL NETWORK AND PRINTER DISCLOSURE
If store staff use printing features, the Order App may scan nearby private network addresses from the device to find compatible printers.
This local discovery is used to:
- detect reachable printers
- save the selected printer profile on the device
- support receipt and order printing
The app is not intended to use printer discovery for advertising or unrelated tracking.

9. DATA RETENTION
We retain Order App data only for as long as needed for service delivery, legal obligations, fraud prevention, tax, audit, dispute handling, and operational recordkeeping.
Examples include:
- store account and session data while the store relationship remains active
- order and fulfilment records for legal, tax, audit, and dispute purposes
- notification tokens until they are deactivated, replaced, or no longer needed
- locally stored printer settings until cleared or changed on the device
Where appropriate, data may be anonymized instead of fully deleted when records must be retained for legal or legitimate business reasons.

10. ACCOUNT CLOSURE AND REQUESTS
Store users should contact their store administrator or legal@updash.mu for privacy requests relating to the Order App.
Even after account closure, certain operational, tax, audit, legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-related records may be retained where necessary.

11. SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Order App data, including:
- encrypted connections
- authenticated API access
- secure token storage on supported devices
- role-based access to store data
- logging, monitoring, and fraud-prevention controls
No service can guarantee absolute security.

12. INTERNATIONAL OR CROSS-BORDER PROCESSING
The Order App may use cloud and technical providers that process data outside Mauritius, including providers used for hosting, notifications, and operational infrastructure.
Where this happens, UpDash applies appropriate technical and contractual safeguards intended to protect personal data.

13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Order App Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page.
